Hello all, I was in WH Smiths today and casually looking at the History books and I picked up Gavin Mortimer's new book "The SAS in World War II: An illustrated history" and I was extremely surprised to see it contained three photos that I have posted on this site. The photos are from my Great Uncle Fred Senior's personal photograph album - two of the photos in the book are of Fred and one is of three men from 8 commando by the Great Bitter Lake. I have no problem with images being out there in the public domain and no problem with the images being in the book and the book does rightly reference John Robertson and this website which is good. However I would be happier if I had been contacted - primarily as I would have been happy to provide the author with a whole load of other 8 commando photos and other SAS documents I have collected during my research. Also one of the photos was acknowledged with "Author's own collection". This is a superb website and I have gained a lot from it - in my own case I have also provided info and photos to a number of families researching ancestors through this website. I think this is different from supplementing a personal profit making book. Sam
