Make no mistake it took no small measure of personal courage to nav pen y fan that night, the men who tackled it can only be admired.Quint was an honest, intelligent& very fit young man, very much"the type"that fitted the regiment. We all lost that night. The tragedy is that Quint was " almost home ". B.R.
Rest in peace,young friend.

I was the person who was blown off the fan with him . My name is Paul Kemp. I can give the full story if you want to hear it . I was with 21 I passed selection on the next course and was with B Sqn 21 for nearly 20 years. I was SSM of B Sqn .

I was on 264 SAS Sig Sqn selection March 1982 (passed) We were running on Pen Y Fan as a group in mist and if i remember correctly rain or snow.. We passed the 2 soldiers our instructor told us they were territorial soldiers. We were told the next day that they had fallen just after passing us over a ridge. RIP i am now 65 and was in the army 1975 to 1984.
