Hello - JP Young was my grandmother's husband before she went on to marry by grandfather after JP's death in the war. I am researching this part of our family history. I was curious where you got the information above here. I notice that it says he was in the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion, but when I click on the link to picture of his grave above, his grave stone says he was in the 517th. Another website also said he was in the 509th (here: https://www.ww2-airborne.us/units/509/509_trp.html#lijewski). And on a website dediated to the 517th he is also missing from the list of those killed. So it's a bit of a mystery to me if perhaps he was in the 509 and then the 517? I'm trying to research this. The records in the US National Archives that would have this information were destroyed in a fire in 1973 it seems. So, I wanted to see if you had any information on where the details above (even including his number) were gathered from or any other suggestions to help me research this. Thank you! Katie
