CITATION:

Military Medal : 18th-19th August 1942 Yellow 2, Dieppe
Distinguished himself by his skill and fearlessness as a leading scout during the advance to BERNEVAL CHURCH. Although armed with nothing but a pistol he eagerly engaged in the fighting at that point. He was No. 1 on the 3" Mortar and after firing all the ammunition, helped to get it out to the L.C.P. under a heavy fire. By his intelligence and courage in assisting one of the sailors with the kedge he helped to get the craft away when it was aground. He was the foremost in assisting Captain Selwyn to rescue Gnr. Abbott
