Hi,
Anyone know any history about Dave Kemp a Yorkshireman from 3 Para and Depot NCO went to SAS late 60s/early 70s ?
I was in touch with Brian Dodd MM until recently if anyone remembers him (Radfan) Regards. John.

I have recently found out Dave was in 22 and ended up as training Captain. I can't confirm that, anyone out there who can ? No trade secret, he will be well out now.

Dave was awarded the BEM for service in Northern Ireland with 22 Sgt 1980 was RSM and later Officer in 22 I served with Dave in 3 Para Frank Pye

Hi Frank,
I remember you well from 3 Para, saw you on ABF day at Para 90 (few years ago) Thanks for info on Dave, did well didnt he ? Regards. John Charlton.

I was a Cpl instructor at the Depot (Browning Barracks) with Dave Kemp - I was from 1 Para (24080473 joined in 1965 and went out to Aden) and later was posted to the Depot from NI (Palace Barracks ready for promotion to SGT - I was offered a commission and went to Sandhurst in 1974). Dave Kemp was a mate of mine and drinking buddy - ex 3 Para and he went on selection in 1973 (I think) along with All Young and Lee Giles (Korean) both 1 Para) Last I heard of Dave was that he was RSM of 22 and I heard this from Colin Armstrong MM (who did not like Dave !) I went on selection 6 months after Dave . I broke my ankle on the Fan at night and had to be stretchered off. So ended up going to another organisation operating in NI and did not go back to Hereford. Dave will be 72/73 now and I hope he is still alive as would be good to see him again.
