I'm researching the case of your great uncle and the circumstances of his disappearance on April 8th 1945 near my hometown. I'm happy to share my knowledge.
 
This is also my great uncle (Hi Ruth). My oldest brother is name after Douglas Ferguson as he was first grandchild to John & Maisie White & also first great grandchild to our Grandma Daisy (Marguerite) - Douglas’s Mother. It would be great to be able to piece together the circumstances of what actually happened to Douglas

Douglas Ferguson, from Glasgow, was a pre-war regular soldier in the 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry having joined in 1937.
