I have a newspaper report which states my father (2SAS) was living and working in Hamburg after the war, in 'financial branch of HQ Hamburg District'. Does anyone know anything at all about this set-up? Where it was and what personnel records may exist? I am trying to pinpoint exactly what he did, and where. Frankly, knowing him, it seems unlikely he was office-based, and there has been some speculation he may have been secretly working to identify Nazi war criminals.
