CITATION:

Military Cross : As the Officer Commanding the operational troops in the CAMERON HIGHLANDS area since August 50, Captain Hunter has conducted operations against the bandits with vigour, determination and outstanding skill.

He has kept up a relentless pressure against the enemy in his area and, by his offensive spirit, he has achieved a number of successes against an enemy often markedly superior in numbers. He has himself led a number of patrols and has personally killed one bandit.

With the knowledge that our re-enforcements are inevitably a long way off he has had an unusual amount of responsibility for a sub-unit commander. He has always accepted this responsibility in full and the marked success of his efforts has been a measure of his sound tactical judgement and willingness to make bold decisions.

Place : Cameron Highlands
Date of Action : 1 Aug 50 - 15 Nov 50
How Employed : CC (Operational) Troops, Cameron Highlands
