Eli Popovich

I do not believe Eli Popovich was a member of the Halyard Mission.
He did accompany Linn Farish on a number of missions to the
Partisans, but I do not think he was associated with Halyard.
 
Eli Popovich was a member of The Columbia Party, along with Lt. Farish and Radio Operator Arthur Jibilian from 15 April - 18 June, 1944. I am in possession of his field diary recounting their evasion of Germans, Bulgars, and cooperation with both Partisan and Chetnik forces (mainly Chetniks) while recovering downed airmen, among them my Grandfather. I believe that it was this mission for which Popovich, Farish, and Jibilian were awarded the Silver Star.
