ROLL OF HONOUR:
https://www.specialforcesroh.com/index.php?threads/skinner-alexander-grant.2832/CITATION:
Military Medal : Pct. Skinner was wounded by shrapnel in the leg and hip during the first hour of fighting on Cape Murro Di Porco on 10th July 1943.
Nevertheless he took his full share in the advance and continued to fight throughout the action which lasted 17 hours and covered over 24 miles. During the attack on the Farm House Marsa Alacona he himself stalked and killed three enemy snipers.
On hearing that another operation was to take place shortly he did not visit the unit Medical Officer but had his wounds dressed privately. He went into action again with the Squadron on 13th July at Augusta. Only after this operation were his wounds discovered and he was then admitted to hospital.
