Correction needed !

My grandfather, Robert Sharpe is rear row third from left, not second. I have this photograph but not in good condition!

I also have a chemical based photograph of this image. It came to me from my father SQMS John Alcock who must have had it since he left the 2 SAS in 1945. Charlie Radford says in his book that this photo was taken in Italy just before they returned to the UK.

I had a copy of this to thanks to David Eyton Jones and Phil Williams and i have put it in my book with all the names. Sorry to Mr. Sharpe i have to put the wrong edit :) In next edition (2nd one is coming out in septmber) i will correct! David Eyton Jones told me that the original "Molto Stanco" 75mm was bring back at the base and in August 1945 at the sign of the end of the war from the japanese forcese..."Molto Stanco" shoot on air and against a barrack (ops!) to celebrate! Crazy them|

I have a little story about this photograph told to me over the phone from Cyprus by Cyril Radford who is on the second row down from the top. He is fifth from the right on this row. Cyril told me that my father SMQS J Alcock (ex Coldstreamer) told Cyril to put his beret on properly before the photo was taken. As you can see that after my fafter turned around and sat down Cyril made it lop sided again. Cyril was a customs officer on Cyprus in 1956 just at the time that Jack Alcock was RSM 3 para

This is the gun that my Wife's Uncle Frank Hughes DCM had a tragic accident with, due to a jammed round from damaged ammo. The story told in the book Operation Tombola page 228. So of course he isn't on the photo!
