CITATION:

Silver Star : The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star (Army Award) to Private Warren M. Lambuth (MCSN: 446523), United States Marine Corps Reserve, for gallantry in action at New Georgia, Solomon Islands, on 20 July 1943. Private Lambuth crawled to a point within twenty-five yards of the enemy lines to remove a wounded comrade to safety under exceptionally heavy rifle, machine-gun and mortar fire.
